Sales Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (DACH) – Germany (Remote) - Mid-Sized Manufacturer
Irving Knight has partnered with a highly innovative and reputable Cosmetic Ingredient Manufacturer to identify a Sales Manager focused on the DACH region. My client is very well known for their Preservatives and Actives but boasts a portfolio of 300+ scientifically backed ingredients.
Interestingly, my client invests 4% of all revenue into R&D and releases six new ingredients per year on average, making them one of the most innovative companies on the market. They also possess a 50/50 gender diversity split at the management level.
This role will focus on growing the existing €2m business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The position is fully remote with 30% travel across the region, managing two distribution partners. It offers a valuable opportunity to grow technically, professionally, and personally, while representing the company in the DACH region as the 'face of the company' for a leading scientific manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth across DACH, with up to 30% travel.
- Utilize product knowledge and sales experience to effectively communicate the value proposition.
- Sustain and enhance customer service levels through innovative initiatives.
- Monitor industry changes, emerging markets, new products, and competitive landscapes, providing analyses as needed.
- Participate in industry tradeshows and events, recommending involvement as appropriate.
- Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and on social media platforms.
- Apply effective sales techniques when prospecting, ensuring clear communication of the brand and market presence.
- Advance prospects through the sales process to secure new business.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, either in person or virtually.
- Arrange in-person customer visits with key contacts at potential clients.
- Address customer questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
- Send quotes and samples as required.
- Participate in new product launches, training sessions, joint sales calls, and testing.
- Report customer issues, meetings, and opportunities regularly through call reports and emails.
- Collaborate closely with product management, pricing, and R&D teams.
Qualifications
- A technical degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or similar is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven success in acquiring new customers and driving sales, with measurable results.
- At least three years of experience selling Cosmetic Ingredients in Germany, with seven or more years preferred; experience across the DACH region is advantageous.
- Fluency in English and German is essential; additional languages are highly preferred.
- Self-motivated with high energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
- Existing network within the Personal Care industry is a plus.
- Willingness to travel more than 30% of the time.
