In Leuna, we are seeking a motivated R&D Project Leader - Automotive Market (m/w/d).

Job Mission:

As part of the Automotive Market segment team and reporting to the Automotive Segment manager, we are looking for a R&D project leader to support the growth of the Automotive market by leading different types of projects in line with the automotive strategy roadmap (New Product Development and/or Adaptation, New Applications, Raw Material, etc.).

Your Responsibilities:

1. Innovation – New product development and product adaptation: Manage and execute innovation projects to develop new polyamide solutions for automotive applications, proactively or in response to market needs. Organize project meetings, define deliverables, lead times, and resources, and report progress using tools like Monday.com. Support customer-facing teams to understand requirements and present technical solutions.
2. Innovation – Develop technical support for new applications: Identify actions to understand new applications, coordinate with application labs, and develop expertise on formulations and applications.
3. Approval of raw materials: Support raw material homologation by engaging with suppliers, leading projects, planning tests, analyzing results, and supporting validation and approval processes.
4. Support other regions: Assist regions like China, India, and the US on local product development topics, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.

IHR PROFIL

• Ph.D or Master in polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry
• Knowledge in polymer properties, plastics formulation, processing technologies
• Experience in the automotive market is an asset
• At least 5 years experience in plastics formulation for injection molding
• Project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills in English
• Team spirit, customer orientation, curiosity, and proactivity
