Our Team

The Communications Team sits within Marketing, and builds compelling narratives, campaigns, social media and other creative assets for our core brands: Mozilla, Firefox and more. We are the ambassadors of these brands, which are on the precipice of change.

Our Communications team has insight into all of Mozilla's business strategies and initiatives. It’s a dynamic team that helps craft public perception of issues like online privacy and responsible tech, making these topics relevant and accessible through creative storytelling and initiatives.

The Role

Mozilla is looking for a PR Manager (agency level equivalent) to join our Communications team and help us tell stories to reach target audiences in key European markets, with a specific focus on Germany. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of our consumer/lifestyle PR strategy, develop media stories and relationships with relevant outlets. Working under the Head of Communications for Europe, you will collaborate with the European and Global Communications teams to create opportunities for positioning our brands and initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling and can translate complex stories into compelling narratives. A strong understanding of the media landscape in Germany is essential.

Responsibilities

1. Drive implementation of our European communications strategy with a focus on the German market and consumer/lifestyle media.
2. Develop ideas and opportunities for creative storytelling and support the press office with media inquiries.
3. Establish and nurture relationships with media outlets and journalists.
4. Collaborate to identify trends and develop proactive pitches and reactive statements.
5. Coordinate press materials, statements, FAQs, and support messaging development.
6. Support event planning and execution in Germany.
7. Maintain the communications calendar, identifying relevant events for storytelling opportunities.
8. Track and report on PR activities, media opportunities, and compile internal reports.

Your Professional Profile

1. 3-5 years of experience in communications and media relations.
2. Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills.
3. Experience in creative storytelling, media relations, and campaign development.
4. Self-starter with a good understanding of the media landscape and storytelling.
5. Strong grasp of marketing and communication channels.
6. Experience in consumer and lifestyle campaigns is a plus.
7. Experience in journalism, PR agency, or in-house communications is a plus.
8. Native or professional proficiency in German is required.
