Your role

We are seeking a passionate People Business Partner to oversee HR operations in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (currently around 60 FTE and growing). Based in Cologne, you will build strong relationships with local leadership, acting as a trusted advisor to set local people strategies aligned with our mission and culture. You will drive engagement initiatives, enhance collaboration, and establish a framework for sustainable growth, requiring a hands-on approach, proactive mindset, and ability to navigate change.

You will be the local point of contact for our German, Swiss, and Austrian teams, working closely with the wider People team based mainly in the Netherlands, which includes People Business Partnering, Payroll, People Operations, and Talent Acquisition. Our team currently comprises a Lead and two other Business Partners.

In concrete terms, you will be:

1. Teaming up with local leaders to strengthen our people foundation and support headcount growth.
2. Using HR strategies, tools, and labor law knowledge to navigate workplace challenges with data-driven solutions.
3. Being the local HR expert on labor law and HR practices for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
4. Building trust with employees and leaders through listening, coaching, and influencing, keeping our mission at the forefront.
5. Monitoring performance, workforce needs, and succession planning for future readiness.
6. Partnering with Talent Acquisition to align hiring with workforce planning.
7. Identifying skills development opportunities, implementing effective training, and measuring impact.
8. Participating in cross-functional HR projects spanning L&D, Compensation & Benefits, HR data, and tooling.

Job requirements

Who we are looking for

You should have solid HR experience enabling you to consult on HR topics and organizational changes across all levels and backgrounds.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• Minimum of 2 years as a People Business Partner in a fast-paced (preferably startup) and matrix environment.
• BSc degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of German labor law; Swiss and Austrian law knowledge is a plus.
• Available at least 32 hours per week.
• Passion for sustainability and electric mobility.
• Willingness to travel once a month to other offices in DACH and NL.
