Position: Energy Markets Analyst (m/f/d) in Renewable Energies
Location: Hamburg | Type: Permanent, Full-time | 50% Mobile Office possible
Responsibilities
- Building a position reporting system and revenue tracking
- Further developing existing software projects in collaboration with development partners and the IT team to digitize portfolio management
- Developing new hedging strategies by running stochastic models or backtesting
- Tracking short-term hedging strategies
- Monitoring price developments and fundamental drivers of energy markets
- Quantifying market-, portfolio-, and delivery structure risks and their impact on PPA structures
- Developing PPA pricing models
- Assessing the impact and economic advantages of financial hedging instruments like options and battery tollings
Minimum Qualifications
- Academic degree in natural sciences, economics, statistics, or equivalent
- Passion for energy transition and renewables; ideally with >1 year of practical experience in Origination, Trading, or Risk Management
- Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data from various sources using SQL, R, Python; skilled in data visualization with Power BI and packages like ggplot2, plotly, matplotlib, seaborn; advanced Excel skills including Power Query
- Experience in reporting on renewables revenues and controlling
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, stochastic and fundamental models, and meteorological or commodity market data is advantageous
- Experience in financial/energy market pricing models
- Team player with the ability to work independently, diligently, and responsibly
- Good communication skills in German and English
