GET AN IMPRESSION OF THE TEAM

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our Ride Experience team and play a key role in developing and maintaining the critical user-facing features within our flagship consumer Android application. You will work closely with a talented team of Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Designers, taking ownership of the entire software development lifecycle for these crucial user flows. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the user experience and contribute to our business growth. It is a hybrid role, requiring presence in the office two days a week.

THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT

  2. Ensure stability, performance, and security of these user flows by applying clean architecture principles, industry best practices, and a data-driven approach.
  3. Identify and address technical debt and performance issues within the ride experience domain proactively.
  4. Ship app updates to the Play Store, monitor app health in production, debug issues, and communicate with stakeholders to align priorities and provide updates.
  5. Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for our Android platform.
  6. Collaborate with product and design teams to understand user needs and translate them into impactful features.
  7. Participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase.
  8. Help improve our development processes and tooling.

YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Passion for technology and Software Engineering with a user-centric approach. Ability to understand and address user problems with scalable solutions.
  2. Strong product ownership mentality—responsible for the success of features and the overall ride experience.
  3. Excellent critical thinking skills, observability mindset, and ability to use data for decision-making to optimize ride experience.
  4. Proven ability to work independently; fluent in Kotlin and familiar with Android best practices, able to implement changes adhering to architecture guidelines and quality standards.
  5. 5+ years of experience developing and shipping B2C Android applications at scale, preferably with maps and navigation experience.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points:

  1. Experience with A/B testing.
  2. Interest in backend or iOS development.
  3. Interest in or experience with cross-platform technologies (Flutter, KMM).
  4. Experience working in an Agile environment.
