Role Overview

As a Technical Writer, you will be part of a global, cross-functional team supporting the development of our latest innovations in Life Science and Applied Solutions. You will coordinate and create product-specific online help in collaboration with internal departments and external partners. The goal is to provide our customers with comprehensive, high-quality online help to ensure their satisfaction and support their research success.

Your main task is to help our customers understand the overall functionality of our systems so they can use them fully, efficiently, and safely.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Global Product Compliance and Technical User Documentation and is part of the Technical User Documentation team located in Mannheim and Wetzlar. It is an on-site role based in Mannheim or Wetzlar.

Responsibilities

• Create online help content, including preparation of data (text/graphics) and implementation in online help systems.
• Test the created online help on demo devices/prototypes to verify quality and usability.
• Provide the final localized online help in the required format.
• Conduct cross-site research and gather information from departments to compile product-specific documentation.
• Coordinate timing and content with stakeholders and development teams.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in technical writing or a technical field with specialized training as a technical writer.
• Several years of experience in technical documentation and/or online help.
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English and German.
• Ability to travel approximately 15%, overnight, within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with software tools like MadCap Flare.
• Knowledge of programming and markup languages such as HTML, XML, XSLT.
