We are recruiting for a

Category Manager CAPEX & MRO

This is a key position within our Intersnack Procurement team, with high visibility and close collaboration with the director level of the Intersnack Group.

The Category Manager CAPEX & MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) is responsible for the assigned categories for maintenance materials and services, capital equipment, building, infrastructure and Installation services, from manufacturers and distributors across the globe at the best conditions possible. He/she is permanently in contact with our CAPEX and MRO suppliers and other sources of market intelligence to offer competitive propositions to our customers, the Operating Companies of the Intersnack Group. Initiating cost savings, identifying risks, tracking the portfolio positions, and managing and executing the category strategy plans are also key responsibilities of the position.

The Category Manager reports to the Senior Category Manager CAPEX and MRO and will ideally be based in Düsseldorf DE.

Your responsibilities:

• You will support the development and execution of all strategically defined CAPEX & MRO sub-categories across Intersnack Group and present to key stakeholders to get overall alignment.
• You will be the spider in the web, linking the local requirements & strategies from our factories, central Engineering to our Procurement Capex & MRO strategy for the assigned categories.
• Support Negotiations of major MRO and Capex contracts and lead smaller local contract negotiations for the assigned categories.
• You will regularly report on MRO and Capex market trends through market insights gathered by supplier and trade show visits.
• Together with key stakeholders located across Europe, you will develop and achieve a pipeline of initiatives, projects, and activities with a focus on sustainable cost base reduction.
• You will help to solve operational issues (e.g. efficiency workstreams, supply interruptions, contractual disputes) if needed.
• Get involved in ad hoc projects as determined by your manager.
• And you will support your team and the company in coherent development and application of our wider policies and objectives.

What might qualify you for this role?

• A bachelor’s or master's degree in engineering or related field
• Procurement experience (4+ years) in capital equipment & MRO, ideally in collaboration with Engineering
• Supply chain / warehouse management experience
• Being able to speak the engineers & operations language
• Fluent spoken and written English and German required. Skills in further languages are welcome
• Assertive, convincing and with a commercial and competitive mindset
• Solid intercultural orientation
• An ability to develop strong working relationships and be a valuable team player
• Personal drive, proactivity, a results-oriented mindset, and business acumen
• Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally, mainly within Europe (up to 40%)
• A sense of responsibility towards the company, colleagues, customers, and the planet
