Job Description:

Trade Compliance & Customs Manager

This role is based at Textron Aviation’s Cessna Düsseldorf Citation Service Center GmbH (CDCSC). You will collaborate with key stakeholders across European sites to ensure compliance with export/import regulations within the EU, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Czech Republic, UK, and the U.S., supporting international business activities. The position reports to the Director of Trade Compliance and interfaces with Parts & Distribution, Trade Compliance, Finance, and the European Service Network.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the central contact for trade and customs issues within Textron Aviation’s European Service Center network.
  • Develop and implement a European-centric Import/Export Control framework, including documentation and process creation.
  • Oversee export/import authorization applications and review transactions for compliance.
  • Represent Textron Aviation in interactions with federal agencies and during customs audits.
  • Design and manage a robust EU and German customs compliance program, including internal audits and policy development.
  • Review EU and national export control laws to determine jurisdiction, classification, and licensing requirements.
  • Manage interactions with customs brokers to ensure import/export compliance, including tariff classification and valuation.
  • Maintain master data and tariff codes used in customs declarations.
  • Review and approve international travel and visitors for CDCSC.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing training on import/export regulations for staff.
  • Identify and address risks and opportunities to minimize compliance risks.
  • Document determinations and upload data to compliance databases as needed.
  • Assist in internal assessments of export/import transactions to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
  • University degree with at least 5 years of direct regulatory experience, or 10 years without a degree.
  • Background in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in International Transportation, Logistics, and Customs Compliance (7+ years).
  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and SAP GTS.
  • Knowledge of EU, UK, and US trade regulations.
  • Preferred experience in Aerospace/Defense industries.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and training abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
