We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer for the German market who can solve our customer’s most complex problems. In this role, you will work directly with the account sales team and channel partners to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to best support them in their evaluation, and ultimately help our customers choose Snowflake as their solution.

As a Snowflake Sales Engineer, you share our passion for solving complex data challenges and helping organizations maximize their data assets. Our technical landscape is ever-evolving, and you are eager to learn new skills and apply them to real-world challenges. You can translate features and functions into solutions that solve business problems, engaging with technical or business teams, end users, or prospects.

You will:

  1. Present Snowflake’s technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
  2. Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  3. Create and develop technical champions in your accounts to drive deals and achieve a technical win.
  4. Be at the forefront of Snowflake technology, confidently presenting roadmap features and functionality to customers and prospects.
  5. Stay immersed in the industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, and how to position Snowflake in relation to them.
  6. Collaborate with other sales engineers to learn from wins and losses, continually improving.
  7. Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to enhance Snowflake’s products and marketing efforts.
  8. Represent Snowflake at industry or customer events.
  9. Partner with our ecosystem and implementation partners to build joint architectures and collaborate on account strategies to ensure customer success.

On day one, you are expected to have:

  1. Extensive sales engineering or solution architect experience in a SaaS environment or relevant industry experience (analytics, data science, data engineering, etc.).
  2. A proven track record of delivering technical wins and building strong customer relationships.
  3. Leadership qualities that impact beyond your own accounts, uplifting your team or region.
  4. Outstanding presentation skills for technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu or prepared.
  5. Understanding of data architecture, data analytics, and cloud technology.
  6. Hands-on experience with SQL.
  7. The ability to solve customer-specific business problems using Snowflake’s solutions.
  8. Excellent customer-facing communication skills, both written and verbal, in German (fluent in spoken and written).

Preferred (but not required):

  1. Hands-on experience with Python.
  2. Experience with modern data technologies such as dbt, Spark, containers, DevOps tooling, orchestration tools, git, etc.
  3. Experience with data science and machine learning technologies.
