We are looking for our next Senior Engineering Manager to join our tech domains in Berlin (Hybrid working model in Berlin). You will join a team of hardworking entrepreneurs passionate about transforming healthcare and will play an active role in shaping a fast-growing company from day one!

What you'll do :

You will be both a technical leader and a people manager, coaching and training your team members while building an exceptional engineering organization at Doctolib. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Leading a high-performing, user-centric engineering organization of 4 feature teams while maintaining positive team engagement scores;
2. Elevating our patient products to become the undisputed leader in healthcare access in Europe, focusing on improving search, booking, and messaging experiences;
3. Defining the engineering strategy and overseeing delivery for Doctolib's core patient application;
4. Owning your team's delivery quality objectives end-to-end;
5. Setting standards and exceeding security, reliability, performance, and scalability requirements to maintain our reputation as the most trusted eHealth SaaS;
6. Driving continuous process improvements for managing, documenting, staffing, and reviewing engineering projects and services;
7. Participating in architecture reviews to ensure solutions meet Doctolib quality standards;
8. Partnering with talent & people teams to recruit, develop, and retain top talent;
9. Leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance our engineering capabilities.

Key attributes we are looking for :

• Management experience: Proven ability to build and manage multiple engineering teams, including managing managers and senior individual contributors across various stacks.
• Hiring strategy: Ability to define sourcing strategies to grow our Berlin engineering team in alignment with Doctolib's culture.
• Technical expertise: Strong background in software engineering, architecture, distributed systems, and project management.
• User-centric mindset: Empathy for users, understanding their needs, and championing their voice throughout development; a track record of delivering impactful projects.
• Strategic vision: Ability to see the big picture and align team efforts with company strategy.
• Impact orientation: Big-picture thinking, designing scalable systems, and a strong sense of ownership with a bias for action.

Also, it would be fantastic if you :

• Have experience working in a hypergrowth tech environment;
• Are comfortable working with various technologies (e.g., MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, Ruby, Java, Kotlin, Kafka).
