The role requires knowledge of EU machinery safety standards, regulations (PUWER/UWED), and European country requirements. The focus will be on sound safety engineering principles, basic machinery knowledge, and engaging with cross-functional teams to develop compliant processes for the EU network.

Location: Mix of on-site and office work, with frequent travel up to 60-70%.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting facilities by performing risk assessments of machinery and equipment.
  • Developing solutions that meet safety, risk reduction, and operational standards.
  • Managing inspection teams and coordinating site visits.
  • Reviewing corrective actions and updating inspection tools.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Reliability, Maintenance, Procurement, and Real Estate teams.
  • Prioritizing support requests and supporting safety objectives.
  • Contributing to change projects and acting as a machinery safety advisor.
  • Tracking inspection data and planning travel efficiently.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent according to the European Qualifications Framework.
  • Experience in machinery inspection roles.
  • Knowledge of Robotics and Material Handling Equipment.
  • Understanding of EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and standards.
  • Experience in risk assessments and safety inspections across multiple sites.
  • Ability to engage with all organizational levels and influence teams.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Notified or Approved bodies for Machinery Safety.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Formal Machinery Safety certification (e.g., CMSE).
  • Experience with lean principles and process improvements.
  • TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing projects independently.
