Jobbeschreibung

You will be an Economist / Senior Economist within the Economics Research and Market Intelligence Unit of our Cost Management business, providing construction cost information and economic trends to business stakeholders. You will work on a variety of Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives, ranging from producing externally facing economic research documents to client-focused fee-earning reports.

Key accountabilities

  • Economic forecasting; model specification and estimation
  • Evaluate macroeconomic and microeconomic trends affecting the construction industry
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, key clients, and regional cost centres
  • Develop and maintain corporate datasets and reports
  • Support the development of data-driven services, solutions, and products
  • Provide technical training and support to non-experts
  • Liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather data and information
  • Manage aspects of the economics research team and commissions as needed
  • Establish professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and project parties

Desirable skills and experience

Experience or understanding in the following areas is advantageous:

  • Broad knowledge of the construction industry
  • Knowledge of programming languages or willingness to learn (e.g., STATA, R, E-Views, SAS)
  • Understanding of visual analytics software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of econometric techniques such as impact assessment, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting models
  • Excellent communication skills to explain economic concepts to non-specialists
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics or related field
  • Masters in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics (or related subjects)
  • Professional membership or working towards one is preferred
