We are looking for a full-time Ecodesign Fire & Smoke Engineer (f/m/d) in Siegen.
Your Future Role
Our Siegen site is an international competence center for bogies. 800 colleagues develop, manufacture, test, and repair bogies for global rail traffic, ensuring stability and comfort on the tracks. Our corporate functions support and continuously improve the performance of our sites. You will report to Guido Boltem and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
Responsibilities
- Validate requirements (legal and customer)
- Define project-specific requirements and distribute to ENG
- Derive part requirements
- Add requirements to parts (e.g., GRemark) support
- Create a list of all Fire & Smoke relevant parts support
- Validate certificates support
- Upload certificates in MaDaM (when available) support
- Create FCIL support for projects and platforms
- Create per-project lists of parts with invalid certificates and send to Q support
- Create per-project lists of parts with certificate validity less than 1 month and send to Proc. support
- Provide training for relevant métiers on Fire Safety Standards and Specifications
- Drive and refine the EN45545-2 implementation strategy (e.g., for RTM parts). Maintain strong interface with experts (e.g., Suspension)
- Support the definition of test samples related to end-use condition testing
- Contribute to standardization groups internally at Alstom (to influence future standards)
- Engage in Ecodesign activities on tenders and projects, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
- Report Ecodesign product performance in dashboards
- Plan Fire & Smoke projects
- Develop specifications for Fire & Smoke products
- Provide inputs for Project Safety Design Reviews on time and document them
Candidate Profile
- We value passion and attitude over experience. We don't expect you to have every skill, but some that will help you succeed include:
- Ecodesign Engineer, Material Engineer with environmental experience, or Mechanical Engineer with material and environmental experience
- Technical background in the railway industry and/or fire protection or comparable sectors
- Knowledge of international standards and guidelines
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Structured and customer-oriented work approach
