Your mission
- Define and Prioritize the Product Backlog: Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, which includes all features, enhancements, bug fixes, and technical tasks. Keep the backlog up to date, clearly define items, and prioritize them based on business value, customer needs, and development capacity.
- Collaborate with the Development Team: Work closely with the development team to ensure a clear understanding of the requirements. Answer questions, clarify requirements, and make prompt decisions to keep work progressing.
- Participate Actively in Agile Ceremonies: In agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), actively participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. During Sprint Planning, explain the highest-priority items and their importance, help define sprint goals, and ensure the team remains focused on delivering value.
- Communicate and Align with Stakeholders: Act as a liaison between the development team and external stakeholders (customers, business leaders, sales teams, etc.). Gather feedback, requirements, and requests from stakeholders and align product development with business objectives.
- Ensure Product Quality and User Experience: Ensure the product meets quality standards and delivers a positive user experience. Refine requirements, ensure acceptance criteria are met, participate in user testing when needed, evaluate prototypes, and provide usability feedback.
- Make Trade-offs and Decisions: Make trade-offs between features, scope, timelines, and technical feasibility.
- Monitor Product Progress and KPIs: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), user feedback, and usage data to ensure the product meets its goals.
- Clarify Product Vision and Scope (with PM Collaboration): While defining the product vision and high-level strategy, ensure the team understands it in detail. Break down the strategy into actionable work and ensure the development team builds what the business needs.
