We are looking for a new colleague to join our UE Services - Student Hub Team in Hamburg on a full-time basis / 40 hours a week as soon as possible, who shares our vision of excellence in education and who is committed to making a difference in the lives of our students and staff.

The opportunity :

The Student Hub Advisor supports students during their Bachelor’s or Master's degree studies by providing advice and support to help them successfully complete their degree program. The UE Student Hub Centre is the main contact point for students' questions concerning study-related topics or support needs, such as applying for Bafög, understanding health insurance, arranging internships, retaking exams, or applying for semester breaks. If you enjoy helping students develop skills and tools for their career success, this is the job for you.

Key Activities & Responsibilities :

1. Provide excellent and effective service to students promptly
2. Respond to a wide variety of inquiries via different systems and in person
3. Organize student events and support student clubs to enhance engagement and belonging
4. Outreach to students identified as at risk of dropping out and offer appropriate support, referring them to relevant services
5. Identify student issues or needs and refer them to the appropriate support services
6. Maintain up-to-date information about campus support services for referrals
7. Oversee and support the peer mentor program, including training student mentors
8. Suggest improvements for campus and learning environments to the responsible department
9. Perform other related duties

Your profile :

1. Excellent organizational skills
2. Fluent in written and spoken German and English
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
4. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
5. Experience in organizing events such as welcome days or orientation programs
6. Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative in addressing student issues
7. 1-3 years of experience in student services or a related field; completed commercial apprenticeship; practical experience in service industries such as hospitality, customer service, or higher education
