Sales Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (DACH) – Germany (Remote) - Mid-Sized Manufacturer

Irving Knight has partnered with a highly innovative and reputable Cosmetic Ingredient Manufacturer to identify a Sales Manager focused on the DACH region. My client is well known for their Preservatives and Actives, with a portfolio of over 300 scientifically backed ingredients.

They invest 4% of revenue into R&D and release six new ingredients annually, making them one of the most innovative companies in the market. They also boast a 50/50 gender diversity split at the management level.

This role focuses on expanding the existing €2m business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It is fully remote with 30% travel, managing two distribution partners. This is a great opportunity for professional and personal growth, serving as the 'face of the company' in the DACH region for a leading scientific manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  1. Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth across the DACH region with up to 30% travel.
  2. Utilize your product knowledge and sales experience to clearly communicate the value proposition.
  3. Maintain and enhance customer service through unique initiatives.
  4. Monitor industry trends, emerging markets, new products, and competitive landscapes, providing analyses as needed.
  5. Participate in industry tradeshows and events as required.
  6. Represent the company at conferences, events, and on social media platforms.
  7. Apply effective sales techniques to prospect new customers and communicate the brand effectively.
  8. Advance prospects through the sales process to secure new business.
  9. Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, both in person and virtually.
  10. Arrange in-person visits with key contacts at potential customers.
  11. Address customer inquiries promptly and accurately.
  12. Send quotes and samples as required.
  13. Participate in new product launches, training, joint sales calls, and testing.
  14. Report customer issues, meetings, and opportunities regularly.
  15. Collaborate closely with product management, pricing, and R&D teams.
Qualifications
  1. A BSc in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. A proven record of acquiring new business with measurable results.
  3. At least three years of experience selling Cosmetic Ingredients within Germany, with a preference for seven or more years.
  4. Fluency in English and German is essential; additional languages are a plus.
  5. Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  6. Strong communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  8. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.
  9. An existing network within the Personal Care industry is advantageous.
  10. Willingness to travel over 30% of the time.
