About the Team
OpenAI's mission is to build safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) that benefits all of humanity. We believe that achieving this goal requires effective engagement with public policy stakeholders and the broader community impacted by AI and its rapid evolution. Our Global Affairs team builds authentic collaborative relationships with public officials and the AI policymaking community to inform and support our shared work. We ensure that insights from policymakers inform our initiatives and, in collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders, seek to further regulation, industry standards, and the safe and beneficial development of AI tools.

You will drive campaigns on specific policy issues and develop relationships with key international partners, including civil society groups, researchers, and experts, to advance policies aligned with OpenAI's mission.
OpenAI releases industry-leading research and tools. You will face new challenges as the impact of cutting-edge generative AI technologies continues to be explored and as organizational needs evolve. Your day-to-day work may include shaping strategic initiatives, policy documents, preparing leaders for engagements with government officials, or representing OpenAI in forums.
We seek a self-directed and creative individual with experience managing relationships with policymakers and civil society groups, along with a sophisticated understanding of AI and related legislative and regulatory issues (copyright, competition, privacy, data, product safety, consumer protection).
This strategic yet hands-on role reports to the Head of European Policy & Partnerships and works closely with internal and external partners. It is among the first hires for OpenAI's newly opened presence in Germany, with the office located in Munich.
