JOB DESCRIPTION: Are you passionate about automating database operations and providing seamless self-service solutions? Do you have a knack for scripting and optimizing workflows? We are looking for a talented Database Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to join our international team.

Your Role

You are responsible for automating day-to-day operations within our highly standardized database environment. We deliver databases as a service for PostgreSQL and provide operation tasks as self-service solutions to our internal customers.

Your Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement scripts and workflows to automate recurring administrative tasks such as creating, deleting, and patching databases, creating and deleting users, performing database switchovers, database upgrades, etc.
2. Develop self-service solutions for internal customers to independently perform database operation tasks.
3. Analyze and optimize existing self-service solutions, workflows, and scripts to ensure their stability and efficiency.
4. Create and maintain documentation for the developed automation solutions and self-service processes.

Your Skills and Experiences

1. Proficient knowledge of JavaScript and/or PowerShell. Basic knowledge of databases in general and PostgreSQL in detail. Additional knowledge in MySQL and/or MariaDB would be advantageous.
2. Experience with Ansible and AWX.
3. Desirable tech stack includes Terraform, Jenkins, Java, Groovy, Perl, VMWare Orchestrator, GIT, etc.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in optimizing automation solutions.
5. Self-motivated with the ability to independently solve issues and meet deadlines.
6. Ability to collaborate effectively within the team, across teams, and with global teams.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Good English language skills, both written and verbal.
