Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for precision and a strong grasp of German and English? Morrison Express is looking for a General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our European Finance team based near Frankfurt, Germany.

Reporting to : European Senior Finance & Accounting Manager

Location : Moerfelden-Walldorf (Frankfurt area)

Employment type : Full-time

What you'll do :

As a key member of our finance team, you’ll support the German Accounting Manager across all areas of day-to-day financial operations, including :

• Accounts Payable & Receivable, General Ledger, Treasury, Financial Reporting, and Tax Compliance.
• Collaborate with 4 finance colleagues on daily transactions, reconciliations, and intercompany processes.
• Lead timely and accurate monthly closings and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with corporate deadlines.
• Maintain up-to-date account reconciliations and support preparation of statutory accounts in coordination with auditors.
• Support cash flow management and credit control to ensure operational continuity.
• Ensure correct margin allocations in collaboration with global accounting teams.
• Liaise with local authorities, banks, suppliers, and external advisors on financial and administrative matters.
• Provide backup support for AP and AR when needed.

What we’re looking for :

• 5+ years of experience in operational finance (closing, reporting, reconciliations)
• Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail
• Fluent in German and English (written & spoken)
• A true team player who’s eager to learn and take initiative
• Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP / accounting systems
• Hands-on experience with GL and understanding of AP / AR processes
• Knowledge of German accounting, VAT, tax, and / or payroll is a big plus
