Overview

As a Werkstudent in Software Documentation / Technical Writing, you will support the Marine Engineering Team at Berlin in developing and maintaining the Electrical Engineering Tool for calculating and simulating Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) for ship drives (POD drives).

Your main task is to create documentation for our software used in electrical machine design. This includes documenting the program structure, functions, data models, and processes, and compiling user manuals. Additionally, you will document the technical background of the software, such as scripting for model creation, simulations, and other technical details of various calculation functions.

You will work closely with colleagues, with flexible working options between office and home, in coordination with your supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Create technical documentation for a FE-based calculation program for PMSMs
• Support the maintenance and development of our web-based project management tools

Qualifications

• Currently studying Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
• Basic interest in electric machines (rotating field machines)
• Basic understanding and initial experience with electric machines (experience with PMSMs is a plus)
• Experience with LaTeX documentation
• Interest in FE-based machine calculations (PMSM)
• Interest in interdisciplinary engineering tasks
• Independent working style and high motivation for self-directed problem solving
• Excellent written German and English skills
