Job Description:

Starting: Part-time, 3-4 days a week. Beginning Date: –

Institute for Creative Arts and Technology is an international learning community based at the Funkhaus in Berlin. It offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in music & sound, film & visual media, and acting, focusing on progressive, project-based education aligned with UK university standards. Our diverse community includes students from over 75 countries, fostering an international and multicultural environment.

What are we looking for?

A team member who is an enthusiastic artist, professional, and academic to join our Acting program as a tutor. You will develop and run classes based on your industry experience, aligning with our teaching philosophy. The role involves teaching and some administration, adaptable to your skills and availability, typically 3-4 days a week. We seek flexible individuals eager to grow.

Purpose: Motivate and support students effectively.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Develop workshop content aligned with outcomes and briefs
  2. Deliver acting workshops, rehearsals, productions, and shoots
  3. Supervise multiple class groups
  4. Engage students positively
  5. Run Open Day sessions online and in person
  6. Research and develop teaching practices
  7. Monitor student progress and provide feedback
  8. Complete marking and participate in team meetings

About you:

  • High-level acting or related industry experience
  • Experience as director, acting coach, tutor, or mentor
  • Strong pedagogical background
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Interest in progressive film/acting/theatre education
  • Experience teaching at Higher Education level
  • Ability to critique and guide assessment
  • Creative with ideas, not just budgets
  • Team player

Demonstrated capability through previous roles/projects and deep knowledge of higher education is essential.
