The Role
As a Piping System Design Engineer UK & DACH, you will provide engineering calculations and pipe system design support for the UK and DACH regions.
What you will do
- Analyze customer system design requirements and offer Victaulic product solutions for piping motion control, including thermal expansion, seismic movement, and vibration attenuation.
- Assist customers with product selection, calculations, and design modifications for efficient system integration.
- Ensure product competitiveness through testing, certifications, and approvals, supporting market acceptance and compliance.
- Represent Victaulic in industry committees related to seismic and vibration standards, and report updates internally.
- Investigate field installations to assess product performance and provide insights to relevant teams.
- Support sales through technical seminars, literature, and training on piping motion control solutions.
- Design code-compliant piping systems using software like Caesar II, AutoPIPE, Rohr 2, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, including calculations and signing off drawings.
- Manage electronic records securely, complying with data security policies and the Federal Records Act.
- Contribute to product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other projects as assigned by the Piping Movement Design Supervisor.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of piping design experience.
- Professional Engineer license is required.
- Experience in project management within building construction.
- Background in design-build processes or EPC experience.
- Proficiency in stress/structural analysis software (Caesar II, Autopipe, Rohr2, FE Pipe).
- Expertise in piping motion control, including thermal expansion, seismic movement, vibration, anchor design, and load calculations.
- Knowledge of relevant piping, structural, and seismic codes.
- Strong communication and professional presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
