Position in Berlin, Germany:

We are seeking an

Scope of Position:

The Application Engineer (AE) represents Corning as a provider of passive cabling products, demonstrating technical expertise in product application, assembly, and specifications. The AE advises customers mainly in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, providing installation guidance, feedback on field issues, and troubleshooting support.

Responsibilities:

• Support customers with technical support, training, and product presentations.
• Advise on product use, benefits, and system solutions.
• Communicate technical advantages of Corning products.
• Assist in pre-sales activities, including system design and installation training.
• Provide after-sales support and troubleshooting.
• Analyze and document product claims and field issues.
• Support installation projects to meet timelines.
• Provide feedback for product improvement and compliance.

Day-to-Day:

• Support sales and training teams with product knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Ensure delivered products meet specifications.

Qualifications:

• University Engineering Degree.
• Preferred 2-4 years in Telecom or Datacom.

Skills:

• Strong English & German skills, additional languages a plus.
• Ability to convey complex technical ideas clearly.
• Confident presentation skills for groups of 10-50.

Desired Skills:

• Basic mechanical, troubleshooting, and repair skills.

Soft Skills:

• Teamwork, learning, sharing information.
• Leadership in meetings, active listening to customer needs.

Additional Information:

Location: Preferably Berlin HQ, remote work within Germany possible.

Travel: 50-60%, mainly within DACH, flexible to travel across EMEA with valid visas and a clean driving license.
