ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Senior Director of Business Development, Commercial (Industrial & Medical) (f/m/d) with a strong entrepreneurial background and proven track record of achieving targets and building client trust. The successful candidate will be required to engage clients at the most senior levels and must therefore have had real presence, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to forge long-lasting customer relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing Wind River’s strategic vision across the region. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with significant experience in the European Industrial and Medical markets. The successful candidate will lead EMEA account teams, leveraging deep market insights and strong client relationships to drive business growth and development within these critical sectors.
Responsibilities- Develop and oversee the execution of Wind River’s business development strategy for Industrial and Medical sectors in the EMEA region.
- Support and guide EMEA account teams in identifying, pursuing, and securing business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners within the EMEA region, with a focus on understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Leverage extensive experience in software infrastructure and application development to enhance Wind River’s market position and offer competitive solutions.
- Foster a collaborative environment, utilizing matrix management skills to coordinate efforts across different functional teams and regions.
- Continuously analyze market trends and competitor activities in the EMEA region to identify emerging opportunities and potential challenges, including market analysis, program identification, and ecosystem engagement.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product management to ensure alignment with market analysis and opportunities.
- Build relationships with industry consortia and government agencies to support sales efforts.
Qualifications- At least 10 years of experience in business development, account management, or related fields within the Industrial and/or Medical sectors in Europe.
- Proven success in developing and executing business strategies in the EMEA region.
- Strong client management and engagement skills, with an ability to grow significant client relationships.
- Deep understanding of software infrastructure technology and application development, especially in secure, mission-critical environments.
- Exceptional leadership and matrix management skills, capable of motivating teams and fostering collaboration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for negotiation and influence.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related fields; an MBA or equivalent is preferred.
