Qualifikationen

Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineering Specialist (for Electric Actuation & Digital Products) is a customer-facing extension of the Flowserve digital products and automation engineering team. This engineer will support electric actuation activities for all digital products interacting with third-party host control systems. Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning customer network installations. The engineer should have strong knowledge of network protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and connectivity with systems like ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Invensys, Rockwell, Siemens, Yokogawa via wired and wireless technologies.

Location & Travel:

This position can be located anywhere in the US or Europe, with travel up to 50%, including international travel. Candidates should reside near a major airport.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Supporting global strategies to increase profitability within the Service and solutions group, including product support and development collaboration.
  2. Providing service activities such as diagnostics, troubleshooting, and analysis of digital products and control systems, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  3. Training end-users and support personnel in network troubleshooting and commissioning, mentoring junior engineers, and conducting regular training sessions.
  4. Assisting customers in designing new applications, migrating technology, and upgrading solutions across various industries.
  5. Offering technical assistance on digital network interoperability and diagnostics for predictive maintenance.
  6. Supporting sales with technical pre-sales assistance, product demonstrations, and customer presentations.
  7. Engaging directly with customers to communicate Voice of the Customer (VOC) and sharing field insights on competitors.
  8. Promoting a safety culture to ensure a safe working environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant engineering fields or 5+ years of experience in industrial networks.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a technical problem solver with systems and networks including DCS, SIS, AMS, and integration of actuation and instrumentation.
  • Proven experience with industrial digital communication protocols and device commissioning.
  • Fluency in English (verbal, reading, writing).
  • Understanding of fluid flow and process control environments.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and articulate value propositions to customers.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, process control, flow loops, and related systems.
  • Deep knowledge of digital communication protocols such as HART, FF, Modbus, Profibus.
  • Familiarity with main DCS and Asset Management Systems (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa Centum, Honeywell Experion).
  • Experience with FDT/DTM technology and digital product installation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with wireless communication in industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of main electric actuation competitors (Rotork, Auma, EIM, Coester, etc.).
