MicroPyros BioEnerTec GmbH (www.micropyros.de) is a start-up company developing biotechnological processes for the production of green gases. Core competence is the cultivation and selection of high-performing microorganisms.

Company activity includes the development of process engineering applications from laboratory to industrial scale. In cooperation with Pietro Fiorentini (www.fiorentini.com) complete plants are designed, built, and optimized for installation in Germany and international markets.

With the aim to further support the development of our technologies, for our location in Straubing (Germany), we are searching for a R&D Microbiologist:

Your Tasks

• Biological process development in the laboratory as well as transfer of laboratory technical knowledge into pilot plant scale and industrial applications;
• Selection and adaptation of selected microorganisms for the production of "green gases" such as renewable methane;
• Independent planning, execution, and evaluation of laboratory experiments;
• Preparation and monitoring of microbial cultures for our company’s pilot plant;
• Various routine tasks in connection with the maintenance of our laboratory and our microbial cultures
  
  

Your Profile

• Completed scientific studies (preferably M.Sc.) in the field of Biology or comparable;
• Experience in dealing with microorganisms in the laboratory. Knowledge of statistics and/or modelling of microbial processes is a plus;
• Experience with anaerobic Microorganisms and Gas fermentation is an advantage;
• Enthusiastic in being part of the development of green energies;
• High motivation and commitment to quickly familiarize with new open questions;
• Analytical thinking, ability to work in a team, flexibility, and exact and self-sufficient working methods round off your profile;
• Willingness to travel in connection to the work;
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
