OVERVIEW

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Welocalize seeks passionate, culturally fluent Ukrainian linguists with a deep knowledge of contemporary music and excellent writing skills to join our Music localization team. You will craft compelling in-app content and user experiences that resonate with Russian-speaking audiences across genres and formats.

Your responsibilities include translating and adapting various music-related content into native Ukrainian, ensuring an authentic tone and voice for our client's global platform. This role involves storytelling tailored for music enthusiasts.

Language Pair: English (US) > Ukrainian

Task Type: Translation, Transcreation, Copy Editing

Volume: 1,000–2,000 weighted words/week

Tools: Welocalize CAT & client tools (training provided)

Workload: Daily/Weekly availability preferred

Assessment: Grammar + UX/Creative task via Mettl (completed in one sitting)

MAIN DUTIES

• Translate and post-edit music-related content with precision and creativity.
• Adapt tone, style, and structure to reflect Ukrainian music culture and idiomatic usage.
• Collaborate with our assessment team on testing tasks in our platform.
• Maintain brand consistency and linguistic accuracy across UI, banners, and promotional assets.
• Provide feedback to improve content relevance and impact.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum 4 years' experience in music, media, or creative localization.
• Strong familiarity with current music trends, genres (Pop, K-Pop, Hip Hop), and cultural context.
• Excellent command of Ukrainian and deep cultural fluency.
• Experience with UI/UX copy, music metadata, or artist bios.
• Comfortable using CAT tools and adapting content across platforms.
• Degree in linguistics, translation, or journalism. Creative writing background preferred.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

• Published work on platforms like Pitchfork or Rolling Stone.
• Experience working with music streaming services.
• Ability to adapt voice and style for Gen Z or pop culture audiences.
