Position Summary :

The Director, Head of Market Access and Policy Germany is a member of Crinetics Germany’s core Leadership Team, working closely together with colleagues in European and Global functions. The Director will be leading Crinetics Germany’s product access and pricing strategy to ensure successful launches of Crinetics’ core products and indications in Europe’s largest market. This role will be instrumental in achieving reimbursement success for launch products, driving patient access, delivering core value messages, identifying and addressing key data gaps tailored to local market requirements and in developing, driving policy engagement and executing the company’s launch pricing strategy in Germany.

The role will collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Market Access, HEOR, Regulatory, Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, and Commercial, to successfully incorporate AMNOG relevant strategies into the GBA dossier.

Primary geographical responsibility is Germany but additional focus on other geographies primarily the remaining DACH region and potentially other markets will be considered in the mid- to long-term as Crinetics Pharmaceuticals establishes and expands its presence in Europe.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :

These may include but are not limited to :

  • Define and drive Crinetics Germany’s launch strategies in line with local market requirements.
  • Ensure a beginning-to-end value, access and pricing strategy guaranteeing optimal launches with successful navigation through the German HTA process, including added benefit assessment and price negotiations.
  • Guarantee high quality, timely submissions of dossiers to G-BA, as well as preparations of written statements and oral hearings, ensuring optimal outcomes to added benefit assessment of Crinetics products.
  • Develop and deliver coordinated price negotiation strategies for Crinetics Germany’s key products and indications.
  • Engage with a broad network of stakeholders including key health authorities, select payers and payer experts, key opinion leaders in endocrinology and health policy makers.
  • Identify key evidence gaps and define a local HEOR strategy to address evidence needs in support of product value propositions and key pricing argumentation.
  • Hold responsibility for annual strategic plans, activities and budget in support of Pricing and Market Access activities in Germany.
  • Closely monitor upcoming trends and German health policy developments, including government initiatives and rules and regulations around pricing and HTA.
  • Stakeholder engagement with internal functional partners, KOLs, payers, health economists and vendors to shape evidence strategies that address payer expectations
  • Engage across regions to shape internal processes, approaches and best practices to elevate Market Access effectiveness
  • Drive the market access launch evaluations within the DACH cluster including setting the local HEOR strategies and initiation of national submissions & reimbursement negotiations where applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience :

Required :

  • University degree in (health) economics and / or life science, PhD education preferred.
  • 10 years + experience in Market Access.
  • Prior exposure to and experience in launching pharmaceutical products in rare disease indications.
  • Experience and strong affinity to small biotech and working in a start-up environment.
  • Profound experience with dossier writing, HEOR and evidence generation.
  • German price negotiation experience with GKV-SV and local health insurance funds.
  • Detailed knowledge of German pharmaceutical market, AMNOG and interaction with key stakeholders (G-BA, IQWiG, GKV-SV, statutory health insurance (SHI) funds and health policy makers).
  • A combination of prior job experience in both Germany and / or at European level is strongly preferred (especially DACH region), given scope for future expansion of responsibilities beyond Germany.
  • Proven track record of increasing responsibilities and building highly successful teams.
  • Team-oriented, open mindset in working and collaborating cross-functionally within a matrix organization.
  • Proven ability in shaping and influencing overall company strategy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent command of German and English, further languages preferred.

Travel :

You may be required to travel for up to 25% of your time.
