Job Description

Work with Midea product manager(s) to identify unmet consumer needs.

Translate consumer needs into product and technology opportunities.

Create specifications for smart and IoT products.

Collaborate within cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to ensure IoT and smart home features and services conform to specifications and meet performance needs across multiple product categories.

Evaluate new products for market fit and functional performance on various devices such as phones and routers.

Participate in monitoring and engaging with relevant IoT and smart regulatory and standards organizations.

Coordinate with headquarters and product divisions to integrate new smart innovations into product planning.

Provide consultation on feature development during product market transition.

Ensure specifications conform to standards and support other team members in technical specialties as needed.

Your Profile

• Minimum of 5 years experience in IoT and Smart Home research and product development.
• Master's degree in Computer, Software, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience implementing IoT features in consumer products, including app development for iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of IoT technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and sensors.
• Basic understanding of security and cloud computing.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and Python is advantageous.
• Experience with embedded systems, cloud computing, and AI is a plus.
• Strong business instincts to identify opportunities from trends.
• Creative thinker with strong innovation skills.
• Experience with open innovation and engineering collaboration.
• Understanding of consumer product development and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with remote, cross-cultural development teams.
• Proficiency in German and English.
