ABOUT THE JOB

As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for creating technology and organizational transformation activities and setting the technology direction. Collaborating with technology leaders, including the Head of Architecture and senior architects, you will help shape a vision and strategies regarding IT architecture to translate business opportunities and customer expectations into innovative IT solutions within the retail sales area.

You will use your facilitation skills to engage with teams, enhance their capabilities, and explore ways to improve solution quality. You will champion policies, standards, and practices, and help define and execute the technology strategy for TUI, ensuring compliance and integrity with business strategies.

You will identify and implement architectural improvements in an agile environment, mapping current processes to desired states to innovate and adapt to market trends. Ensuring technical implementations align with enterprise and solution architecture standards and organizational objectives is also key.

You will maintain a broad understanding of the latest innovations, technologies, and practices related to modular architecture, and use these insights to shape the architecture of the retail sales domain. You will ensure the domain has the capacity, capabilities, and culture to deliver sustainable business outcomes with quality from the outset.

You will leverage your expertise to improve teams' skills in Microservice development across the domain, promoting technical excellence, ownership, and self-organization. You will research, evaluate, and test new processes and tools, collaborating with Technology Leads to increase DevSecOps maturity and achieve team and domain goals.

As an experienced Microservice and API specialist in a scaled cloud environment, you have a proven track record in designing modular, scalable, high-performance, and resilient global solutions.

You will participate in or lead engineering excellence initiatives and work closely with a multi-skilled design and engineering team to enhance the domain’s modular web architecture capabilities.

You are an active member of global DevOps and architecture communities, eager to learn and teach others, and comfortable working directly with teams.

• Excellent communicator and facilitator, comfortable across organizational and market boundaries.

• Proven experience in designing modular, scalable, high-performance, resilient solutions globally.
• Experience with RESTful and GraphQL API design, familiar with best practices.
• Strong knowledge of cloud technology (AWS), architecture, scalable design patterns, CI/CD, DevSecOps, microservices, and microfrontends.
• Understanding of Data and Information Security principles, integrating them into designs.
• Ability to conceive innovative software and system architectures for online and IT systems.
• Skilled in translating business visions into technical strategies and communicating with stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile environments, promoting architecture practices.
• Passionate about continuous improvement, collaboration, and team excellence.
