As part of a DFG-funded research project at the Department for Internal Medicine 1 (Medical Director: Prof. Dr. Thomas Seufferlein) at Ulm University, we are offering a

PhD position (m/f/d)

The research focuses on how prominent PDAC driver mutations influence the secretion and cargo content of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs, exosomes) to mediate intercellular communication within the tumor microenvironment and with metastatic niches.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to engage in extracellular vesicle research and elucidate intercellular communication networks in pancreatic cancer. Candidates are expected to participate in the structured curriculum of the International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine Ulm (IGradU) PhD training program to obtain a PhD or Dr. rer. nat. degree.

Your profile:
  • Master's degree (overall grade 2.0 or better according to the German grading system or equivalent)
  • Experience with molecular biology, cancer biology, or extracellular vesicles
  • Motivation to solve complex biological problems
  • Interest in working with animal model systems
  • Excellent communication skills in English
