Job Description:

We are seeking a Head of the Finance, Processes, Systems and Compliance Unit for our International Cooperation Division in Hamburg. This is a full-time, unlimited position starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the financial management of the division, including controlling and compliance teams
  • Motivating and developing employees with goal-oriented and value-based leadership
  • Controlling the portfolio and divisional budgets in line with donor requirements
  • Managing implementation and optimization of financial administration, project management, and compliance processes
  • Creating financial and compliance reports and dashboards
  • Managing project audits
  • Developing internal systems and ensuring data quality
  • Coordinating with finance, controlling, compliance, and IT departments
  • Collaborating with Global Hub, Regional Hub, and Country Office Finance Teams
  • Maintaining a knowledge management system for financial, system, and process topics
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives of the division
  • Overseeing monthly and annual financial statements
  • Participating in the management team of the division
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance & Accounting, Controlling, Business Informatics, or similar
  • At least five years of experience in project and/or financial controlling; international cooperation experience is a plus
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience managing large, diverse teams
  • Experience in process digitization and optimization
  • Fluent in English; German and other languages are advantageous
  • Knowledge of IT-based project management systems (e.g., SAP, MS Dynamics 365), proficient in MS Office (especially Excel), with data management and programming skills (e.g., SQL) as advantages
