We are looking for a Portfolio Performance Manager (m/f/d), based in Munich.

Your Team

Our team drives the implementation of a data-driven cross-LoB portfolio steering framework across AZ Commercial, regularly updated to reflect recent developments. Collaboration is key, both with product owners to optimize profitability and within our diverse international team located in Munich and Bucharest.

The Impact You Will Have

You will focus on portfolio management at various levels of AZ Commercial underwriting operations, from portfolio to segment to client and account level. You will implement the CUO/CTO portfolio steering cycle management framework for your area to promote sustainable profitability. This involves working closely with business management to ensure portfolios develop as desired and tracking the execution of underwriting actions, including pricing and capacity strategies aligned with market trends.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Proactively manage and advance your area of responsibility, including projects on portfolio steering and analytics.
• Implement CUO/CTO cycle management, focusing on pricing, capacity, portfolio strategy, and target mix.
• Lead quarterly portfolio steering meetings, preparing results, moderating discussions, and driving tangible actions.
• Analyze portfolio performance and market trends to provide strategic insights and warnings.
• Develop and execute portfolio analytics processes for transparency and top management reporting.
• Collaborate with LoB colleagues to translate underwriting strategies into specific actions, including monitoring pricing, volatility, and portfolio composition.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Several years of insurance experience, including technical underwriting and/or actuarial work.
• Experience working in international, cross-border environments, gathering requirements, delivering solutions, and eliciting feedback.
• Proven success managing complex matrix environments, with project management and leadership experience considered a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills, capable of engaging senior management.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment, with adaptability to new information.
• Excellent MS Office skills and hands-on data analytics experience.
