The University Hospital of Muenster is seeking an ambitious Ph.D. student for a part-time position in the RTG Chemical Biology of Ion Channels. The position is part of the externally-funded collaborative research endeavor Chembion and is open from June 1st, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is linked to the research group of Prof. Dr. Guiscard Seebohm (IfGH-Cellular Electrophysiology and Molecular Biology).
The work will focus on the characterization of modulators and functional analysis of neuronal/cardiac Kv7 channels. The Ph.D. student will work on: transfection of heteromeric channel constructs; electrophysiology techniques in oocytes and cells; stem cell-derived 2D cardiac cultures; high-resolution microscopy; and modeling proteins, individual electrical active cells, and networks.
We will provide a structured 3-year cutting-edge Ph.D. training program in the mentioned fields.
