You will be part of the "Connectivity & Network Peripherals" department, which is responsible for the network and network security, including 2nd and 3rd level. The spectrum includes not only operation, maintenance and support, but also design, implementation and further development of the infrastructure on a project basis for the entire group.

  • As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer, you are responsible for the implementation of the network strategy and the expansion of RWE-wide network services with a focus on Azure and AWS networking.
  • You act as the subject matter expert in the area of cloud networking and steer other cloud network engineers.
  • Develop network capabilities and services in our cloud platforms including lifecycle management and process integration.
  • You are responsible for the organisation and control of the network operation together with external partners and providers.
  • You plan and organise capacity expansion, as well as migrations and modernisation measures, determine the necessary budget and support demand, programme and project management, taking into account local product development processes.
  • You create configuration specifications and documentation and support the implementation in the production network.
  • You follow and evaluate technological trends and innovative or cost-effective methods and take on the active design and further development of processes for their introduction.
  • You take on the leadership of small project teams as well as the technical leadership of multinational teams and external resources and take on more complex tasks in larger multinational teams, working closely with various interfaces on all tasks.

Your powerful skills

  • Several years of professional experience in network technologies and managing partners and providers.
  • Excellent knowledge in development, design and operation of cloud network services.
  • Expert know-how in the area of Azure and AWS networking.
  • Solid end-to-end understanding in the area of network & connectivity.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Python and AzureDevOps.
  • Goal and team orientation, analytical and organisational skills as well as conceptual, analytical and solution-oriented thinking and working.
  • Understanding of overarching technical and commercial contexts as well as strong interpersonal and methodological skills.

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Experience with hybrid cloud networking.
  • Understanding of on-premise networking technology stack (willingness to learn it).

What we value most is passion, willingness to learn and a determined and resilient work ethic. So, if you can’t display all of the skills above we would still like to hear from you.

Further we welcome applications from individuals who may not be able to commit to full-time roles. At RWEST, finding the right person for the job is our top priority, and we are willing to explore flexible arrangements.

Benefits you can rely on

  • A highly motivated dynamic team with a "you" mentality and fun at work.
  • Modern company campus with several company restaurants and coffee bars with free fruit and drinks.
  • Employee parking through our own parking garages on campus.
  • Flexible working in the office and remotely (hybrid model).
  • Attractive remuneration plus additional benefits such as employer-funded company pension scheme and employee discounts.
  • Company kindergarten "Lumiland" and parent-child offices.
  • Extensive health management with own fitness centre directly on campus.
