Are you ready to join The Barn and be a strategic partner to some of Arla’s most exciting brands, all while working with a passionate group of people to deliver world-class creative work? We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Lead to join our global in-house agency.

About the Barn

The Barn is Arla’s in-house agency. We were created in 2018 to help Arla’s brands win in a world of increasing media complexity. Our growth and success have been tremendous, and today we are delivering full scale campaigns across many of Arla’s brands like Arla, Arla Kaergarden, Arla Buko, Arla Bio and Arla Skyr.

The Barn Germany is part of Arla’s global in-house agency network that also spans Denmark, England, Sweden and Dubai. We are set up to function like an agency within the Arla business. This means we have clients, briefs, budgets, and deadlines just like any other agency. In our case, our clients are our colleagues, so we work very closely with them to create effective communication across channels and to become their preferred agency partner.

How you will make an impact

In this pivotal role, you will start up the Account Management function in the Barn Germany. This means you will build and strengthen our relationships with our clients in Germany, while also effectively managing projects to deliver high creative output and client satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Client Leadership: Strategically leading and managing clients to maintain a healthy pipeline and agency business.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building relationships and a high level of trust with key stakeholders to foster strong collaboration and identify new opportunities.
  • Annual Planning: Leading yearly planning processes to secure a strong pipeline of projects and drive client relationships forward.
  • Strategic Partner: Acting as a strategic sparring partner to clients and internal teams, providing ongoing consultation and advice.
  • Project Management: Receiving all briefs as the client entry point, and managing the project from start to finish (timing, budget, resources, etc.), maximizing creative output profitably.
  • Agency Health: Ensuring accurate time tracking across the team and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Value Reporting: Developing and delivering reporting to the Marketing Leadership team to continuously demonstrate the value produced by the Barn.
  • Collaboration with External Agency Partners: Foster strong collaboration with Arla’s external agency partners, to ensure strong and consistent delivery across agencies.

This role reports to the global Head of Account Management and Strategic Planning, who sits in France as a remote leader. You will join an international team of Account Management leads from across our agency locations in Denmark, UK, Sweden, and Dubai.

What will make you successful

You have a minimum of 5 years experience from either the agency side in senior account management roles or from the client side in brand management or similar. Your background should include significant exposure to brand strategy and creative development, and should showcase your ability to informally lead and inspire teams.

You possess a broad range of core competencies:

  • Initiative: You’re a go-do type person. You proactively identify opportunities for improvement and take initiative to make them happen.
  • Strategic mindset: You approach problems strategically, you are able to add value when discussing brand plans with senior stakeholders and have a perspective on how to grow brands and achieve long-term objectives.
  • Communication skills: You excel in communication, both verbally and in writing. You communicate and present clearly and confidently to various audiences in a way that engages them, achieves your desired outcome and builds strong relationships.
  • Informal Leadership: You are ambitious and eager to lead informally. You’re comfortable taking decisions and setting direction for a team. You motivate and inspire your colleagues to achieve high standards and creative excellence.
  • Flexibility: You are flexible and thrive in dynamic environments. You handle changes in projects or priorities with ease and maintain focus on achieving goals.
  • Interpersonal skills: You excel at building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with both clients and colleagues, fostering an environment that paves the way for individual success and team success.
  • Language: You are fluent in German and English. Fluency in Dutch would be a big plus.
