The Senior Technical Service Technologist - Plant-based Proteins is responsible for delivering outstanding technical customer support and driving innovation to develop customer-centric solutions. The role requires expertise in formulation, ingredient application, and understanding structural & functional relationships in food processing. As the subject matter expert in plant-based proteins, the incumbent collaborates with the technical team to share knowledge on texture and healthful solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

Customer Technical Support:

• Act as the primary technical contact for assigned customers and key accounts, providing expertise throughout the innovation process to support business growth.
• Conduct application trials involving formulation and process development, either at customer sites or in-house, proactively developing innovative food solutions based on customer feedback.
• Evaluate customer recipes, ingredients, and processes to diagnose issues and recommend optimal solutions.
• Organize and facilitate visits to and from customers at Ingredion Idea Labs, ensuring a clear understanding of customer needs to deliver innovative solutions efficiently.
• Maintain records and share project updates in the customer relationship management system.

NPD Knowledge Sharing & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Analyze complex technical issues and adapt techniques to improve processes.
• Build strong relationships across technical, commercial teams, and distributors to prioritize projects aligned with strategic objectives.
• Document technical work centrally and communicate results internally and externally.
• Evaluate customer and competitor portfolios to gain insights and share knowledge within the team.
• Collaborate within an international organization, leveraging global resources and participating in cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of proteins, especially plant-based, including functionality, flavors, and interactions in food systems.
• Experience in Technical Service, NPD, R&D, or Applications in specialty food ingredients.
• Proven success in delivering product innovation projects.
• Understanding of equipment and technologies for laboratory and pilot plant trials.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written); additional European language is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the region.
