Shape the Future of Finance at E.ON

E.ON is leading in the energy transition. Our Strategy & Projects department supports the Finance Services organization in transforming with efficient, digital, and scalable processes. We seek a Senior Project Manager to help us enhance our Finance Service portfolio towards operational excellence through innovative financial solutions.

This role involves managing key projects, ensuring smooth execution of business transformation initiatives, leading complex workstreams focused on digitalization, standardization, and automation of accounting processes, especially in Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL). You will also manage transition projects transferring finance activities to Finance Services, ensuring seamless integration and improvements. You will execute strategic projects with high senior management visibility to transform finance processes group-wide.

You may choose your office location in Essen or Regensburg with flexible remote work options.

Aufgaben im Detail

• Lead strategic group-wide initiatives in Finance Services to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality of accounting processes.
• Apply professional project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively.
• Drive standardization and harmonization of finance processes across entities and countries, ensuring alignment and successful execution.
• Manage transition and carve-in projects, transferring finance operations to Finance Services with minimal disruption.
• Act as a trusted partner for senior stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other functions.
• Facilitate communication and decision-making, report transparently, and moderate discussions between central and local teams.
• Deliver strategic rollout projects, ensuring milestones and successful execution.
• Track project performance, report progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support rollout topics from requirements to communication and change management.

Profil

Required Background

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in finance transformation, project management, or Shared Services; consultancy experience is a plus.
• Experience leading complex projects in an international environment.
• Proven track record managing impactful projects with senior management attention.
• Experience in transitions within international organizations.
• Deep knowledge of finance processes, especially AP and GL.
• Expertise in digitalization and automation technologies (Hypatos, Redwood knowledge a plus).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging senior management and operational teams.
• Ability to handle conflicts professionally, with stamina and good presentation skills.
• Strong customer focus, stakeholder alignment, and problem-solving skills at senior levels.
• Solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability.
• Conceptual thinking with the ability to understand complex problems.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Willingness to travel, with flexible work arrangements.
