Job Description:
This role involves testing and validating OTA platforms for vehicles, including regression testing, bug identification, and validation of over-the-air updates such as FOTA and SOTA. The engineer will work with vehicle communication protocols, manage OTA operations across the fleet, and coordinate with development teams to ensure quality and functionality throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regression tests for OTA platforms in Europe.
- Identify vehicle software bugs to enhance user experience.
- Feed back quality concerns to central organization to ensure upgrade capability.
- Conduct real-time and offline testing related to user experience at various locations.
- Handle OTA validation including FOTA and SOTA.
- Manage FOTA operations for Aiways fleet across Europe.
- Operate and maintain FOTA test benches.
- Oversee OTA functions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify integration issues and report to R&D and relevant departments.
- Use ticketing tools like JIRA to track issues.
- Coordinate software release plans and track release statuses.
- Respond to OTA technical issues and support fleet partners.
- Communicate effectively with distributed teams across Europe.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in automotive engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- At least 3 years experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Strong Linux or equivalent programming skills.
- Knowledge of OTA, FOTA, SOTA concepts, functionalities, and update processes.
- Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols like CAN and LIN.
- Experience with diagnostic tools such as CANoe, Candela, Diva, and flashing protocols.
- Good understanding of E/E architectures in electric vehicles.
- Knowledge of IT concepts like databases, cloud computing, and software architectures.
- Experience validating automotive control unit software, following ISTQB standards.
- Valid Class B driving license and safe driving skills.
- Proficiency in English and German; Chinese is a plus.
- Good communication skills, team-oriented, and focus on user experience.
