With a team of over 300 employees, we transform ideas into cross-industry solutions - from conception to production at four locations in Baden-Württemberg. At our Freiburg site, the emphasis is on developing analytical solutions in microsystems technology, particularly for point-of-care diagnostics.

For our Microfluidic Platforms division, we offer a Master Thesis position at Freiburg im Breisgau (end of spring/summer 2025):

Master Thesis - Microfluidic Design of a Point-of-Care Test for Multiparameter Analysis (m/f/x)
Your Tasks
  • Familiarize with the subject area, particularly centrifugal microfluidics
  • Design microfluidic networks: CAD and simulation on a centrifugal microfluidic cartridge (using SolidWorks and MATLAB Simulink)
  • Validate and test the cartridges in the laboratory
  • Document and evaluate the results
  • Discuss results and next steps with your supervisor
  • Participate in regular project team meetings
Your Profile
  • Currently studying for a Master's degree in engineering in a STEM subject (e.g., microsystems technology, sustainable systems engineering, embedded systems, or comparable)
  • Basic knowledge of microsystems technology
  • Interest in interdisciplinary topics and medical technology
  • Reliable, independent, team-oriented, proactive
  • Creative and initiative-driven
  • Very good English skills; German is a plus
