Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Master Student in the field of Next-Gen Telecom Satellites with on-board 5G/6G gNodeB (NTN).

This thesis offers an opportunity to explore the integration of satellite networks into future 6G communications, focusing on deploying functional blocks of a gNodeB on FPGA-based Spacecraft processors, including benchmarking and AI integration.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying on-chip resources for 5G PHY-Layer processing
  • Implementing functional blocks on the SoC
  • Benchmarking performance and power efficiency
  • Defining hardware/software interfaces
  • Integrating AI functionalities into the processing system

Qualifications:

  • Full-time enrolled student in Telecommunication or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of communication standards and signal processing
  • Embedded programming skills
  • Experience with neural network inference on embedded platforms
  • Interest in spacecraft and telecommunications trends
  • Fluent English; German or French is a plus
