Role Overview/Objectives

The Account Manager (m/w/d) is responsible for revenue generation, execution, and development of customer accounts. This position manages a specific customer base from home, using targeted planning and execution to meet sales targets and objectives.

  • Customer-focused, consultative, and solution-oriented sales approach
  • Customer engagement
  • Development and closing of contracts
Core Functions and Responsibilities:

The tasks include:

  • Sales of Sensitech's integrated information management systems and temperature monitoring devices, providing tailored in-transit solutions for sensitive and high-value products in the region
  • Developing vertical sales opportunities within existing customers and acquiring new business in the food industry; developing strategic plans for multinational key accounts and executing these plans to achieve and surpass regional sales goals
  • Acting as the primary communication link between the customer and the company
  • Collaborating with sales colleagues in other regions and countries to support a harmonized global account management
  • Active management of QBRs/regular business meetings with major clients in the region
  • Supporting management in defining future market requirements through direct collaboration with the Product Marketing team
  • Monthly and quarterly rolling sales forecasts
  • Working with marketing to develop sales support programs and techniques to optimize the sales cycle
  • Participating in relevant industry events and conferences
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in selling consumer goods, equipment, or services in the food and/or retail market
  • Experience selling to large retail chains is preferred
  • Experience selling perishable goods and/or logistics services for perishable products
  • Experience at corporate level is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to handle complex, cross-functional customer structures successfully
  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written
  • Strong system knowledge, including MS Office and SalesForce.com
  • Self-confident, goal-oriented, with a passion to delight customers
  • Independent work style, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Willingness to travel extensively within DACH (up to 60%) and occasionally internationally
  • Upholds high ethical standards and business practices
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Experience selling to the German, Austrian, and Swiss retail and food service markets
  • Understanding of supply chain and logistics in the DACH region
  • Residence in Germany preferred
  • Experience working in a multinational company
