What's this role about?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our successful global Telco team. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of excellence and overachievement in driving profitable growth and transformation within the Telecoms IT Services market.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Specialties: Telecommunication including Tier 1 mobile operators.
- Prospecting, cold calling, qualifying leads, conducting sales presentations, negotiating, and closing contracts.
- Motivating and driving individuals and teams to consistently overachieve and grow.
- Identifying and acquiring new clients and projects in the sector.
- Managing end-to-end sales processes from acquisition to completion.
- Maintaining and leveraging your existing network.
- Leading individual bids and participating in contract negotiations.
- Coordinating support and other teams, including those abroad.
- Using marketing tools to secure new orders.
- Participating in and managing external events.
What skills and experience do you need?
- 8+ years of professional sales experience at a senior level.
- Proven record of exceeding sales/revenue targets, resulting in consistent above-target performance.
- Experience in selling offshore or nearshore IT services.
- Recent experience working with, selling to, or for large Telecom companies. In particular, you must have an established network of contacts or experience within Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Germany, 1&1, or LANCOM.
- Strong background in mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators.
- Knowledge in Cloud, 5G, IoT, Embedded Software, Dev, and Test.
- Self-starter with a structured work ethic.
- Results-oriented and commercially focused.
- Multi-year experience in technical sales with a thorough understanding of IT services.
- Fluent communication skills in both German and English.
- Systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor own work within deadlines.
- Awareness of developing technologies and a commitment to personal development.
- * Experience in preparing and presenting proposals, business cases, and statements of work.
