Job description
Overview
Ensure all eligible personnel are provided with clear and concise information on using OPA forms for purchases, both under and over €2500. Guarantee that OPA forms are processed and maintained accurately and promptly. Maintain a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Uphold integrity and respect in all aspects of daily responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Deal with customers face to face, via telephone and email.
- Responsible for checking entitlement and registration of new customers onto the OPA database
- Responsible for the preparation of new OPA forms as and when requested by customers
- Responsible for taking payment and/or providing credits for customers for OPA forms (cash or card).
- Responsible for the input data from returned OPA forms onto the OPA database
- Assist customers with purchases of tax-free items over €2500 and liaise with Finance Department regarding these purchases.
- Responsible for accurate filing and maintenance of all OPA documents
- Responsible for following up on outstanding purchases and out of date OPA forms
- Provide necessary information to GEO Customs & Immigration for audit of the OPA database
- Report any misuse of the OPA system to GEO Customs & Immigration
Experience
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within Customs & Exercise or finance.
- A solid understanding of the Forces Agreement, Forces Customs law, and fiscal regulations, coupled with strong communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making is highly valued.
