Freelance Localization Specialist - Korean (remote)

Do you have a strong passion for travel, dining, and language?

We are seeking a creative Korean Localization Specialist to join us on a freelance basis. Your role will involve localizing our products and content, primarily for KAYAK and OpenTable. As a professional linguist, you will provide linguistic and cultural expertise to help us connect with our audience and enhance the travel and dining experience through localization.

You will contribute to localizing new product features and marketing campaigns that resonate with diverse communities we serve.

Join our team of dedicated localizers and help travelers and food enthusiasts discover and enjoy the world's most exquisite destinations.

• Translate, review, and post-edit machine-translated content for KAYAK/OpenTable’s products and assets, tailored to the target market
• Follow style guides to deliver high-quality translations and creative transcreations
• Translate and proofread content for various channels, including landing pages, blogs, newsletters, SEO content, social media, and marketing materials
• Conduct LQA and functionality checks to engage the local audience
• Maintain and update language-specific resources such as style guides and glossaries

Note: There will be a lighter initial workload with potential for increased involvement in future projects.

Your profile

• Proficient native speaker of Korean (required)
• Strong command of English (verbal and written)
• Experience in website/app localization and translation
• Familiarity with Translation Management Systems
• Creative translation and copywriting skills
• Knowledge of SEO
• Experience with LQA
• Background in communication, marketing, translation, linguistics, or related fields
• Quick learner, forward-thinking, comfortable with new technologies
• Versatile multitasker, capable of managing diverse workflows
