Job Title: Project Planning and Development Director

Are you an experienced Project Development Director (PDD) based in Germany, ready to lead all project development activities, from land acquisition to approvals? Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking a dynamic individual to drive project success in the region, with a focus on engaging Industrial Power Users (IPU) during the initial stages.

Join Our Team in Berlin: As the highest-ranking executive in the region, you will be instrumental in building and leading a team in land acquisition/approvals, sales, and project management. Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with land examination teams, the Head of Land Acquisition, sales functions, and the Chief Development Officer (CDO).
2. Land Acquisition: Secure suitable land leases by leading a team of land examination professionals to identify optimal sites for renewable energy development. Use industry, personal, and professional networks to secure land leases, resulting in a robust portfolio of actionable opportunities for the sales team.
3. PPA Contracting: Engage industrial clients to secure long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts for the sale of electricity from projects. While a dedicated sales team will eventually handle this, the PDD will lead this function until the team is fully established.
4. Facilitate Planning and Procurement Processes: Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and planning professionals by facilitating an understanding of planning and procurement processes. While these functions will be executed by the project team, the director's deep understanding is crucial for effective guidance.

Experience Requirements:

• Experience with land acquisition/approval processes in Germany, preferably in solar energy.
• Knowledge of regulatory, planning, and approval considerations for renewable energy development in Germany.
• Understanding of approval processes for cable routes and grid connections.
• Fluent in German (minimum C1 level) and fluent in English.
