Job Title: Solution Architect - German Mission Network (m/w/d)

As the primary digitalization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, secure, and efficient IT services domestically and abroad, from basic operations to deployment-related areas. With over 7,700 colleagues, we operate and modernize one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. Position Details

Starting immediately, full-time or part-time, across Germany at one of our BWI locations.

Department: Shared Service Architecture

This area handles solution development specific to delivery and is responsible for designing comprehensive IT solutions across service lines. Focus areas include designing secure, cost-effective IT solutions aligned with customer requirements, utilizing the capabilities of delivery units. Our strength lies in our well-trained staff, who specialize in one or more technology areas and collaboratively design and develop the IT infrastructure for our clients, primarily focusing on solutions within the German Mission Network project. The role involves developing solutions for highly automated, virtualized platforms to deploy mission-critical Bundeswehr applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design solutions for portable data center components to operate an automated platform for Bundeswehr applications.
• Conceive backend architectures for different information domains to provide virtualized platforms as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
• Design data exchange options between portable and stationary components within overall deployment scenarios.
• Design portable data center components up to the virtualization layer.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in IT or a comparable vocational qualification.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture as an enterprise, solution, or IT architect, or as a technical IT consultant.
• Extensive knowledge of traditional infrastructure and cloud platforms, plus at least one of the following: IT security, Identity & Access Management, data center architectures, virtualization platforms, legacy client/server structures.
• Knowledge of IT basic protection standards and experience in requirements engineering/management (e.g., IREB).
• Proactive, communicative mindset with a strong solution-oriented approach.
