JCW are working with a dynamic, boutique consultancy firm that specializes in risk, finance, and strategy within the banking and financial services industry across the globe.
Location : remote from the Netherlands or Germany
Role Overview : As a Wholesale IRB Credit Risk Consultant, you will play a critical role in developing and validating IRB credit risk models for banking clients, with a strong focus on PD, LGD, and EAD models. You will also be responsible for helping clients meet the latest regulatory requirements and improving their risk management frameworks, working closely with senior consultants and clients to deliver practical and sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and enhance Wholesale IRB credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD).
- Use programming languages such as Python, SAS, and R to build and refine models.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure models meet Basel III and CRR / CRD IV regulations.
- Provide insights and support in stress testing, capital management, and ICAAP / ILAAP processes.
- Assist clients in navigating PRA and ECB supervision requirements.
- Conduct model validation and regulatory reporting.
- Support strategic planning and risk appetite / limiting initiatives.
- Work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment, leveraging your experience to influence clients and stakeholders across different teams and disciplines.
What We’re Looking For :
- 5–10 years of experience in management consulting within the financial services or banking industry, with a focus on credit risk or risk modelling.
- Hands-on experience in Wholesale IRB credit risk model development, including PD, LGD, and EAD models.
- Strong programming experience in Python, SAS, R, or SQL.
- In-depth understanding of Basel III, CRR, CRD IV, and other relevant regulations in financial services.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid background in mathematics, economics, industrial engineering, or a similar quantitative field.
- Experience in ICAAP / ILAAP, stress testing, capital management, and related financial risk processes is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages (German, Spanish) are a plus.
