Job Title : Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Location : Remote or Zanzibar based

Engagement : Part-time / Hourly Rate

Compensation : Competitive, based on experience

The Role

We’re seeking a strategic, experienced Fractional CMO to lead the marketing function for an exclusive residential lifestyle community project based in Zanzibar. The ideal candidate will manage a lean team of creatives and specialists, overseeing everything from content strategy to marketing funnels and affiliate campaigns. This is a leadership role focused on orchestration—not execution.

You’ll be responsible for aligning marketing efforts with business objectives, refining messaging and positioning, and ensuring all touchpoints—from social content to sales materials—resonate with a highly selective audience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct the content team in creating and managing a high-performing social media calendar across platforms including Instagram, Telegram, X, and Rumble.
  2. Marketing Asset Development: Guide the creation of brochures, promo videos, digital and print sales materials, event collateral, and premium brand artifacts (e.g., coffee table books).
  3. Design and implement a referral and affiliate framework to attract high-quality prospects through aligned partners and brand advocates.
  4. Audit and improve the customer journey from first contact to final sale. Oversee CRO, retargeting strategies, landing page structure, and messaging hierarchy.
  5. Team Management: Lead and coordinate a small remote team of writers, editors, ad buyers, and support staff. Your focus will be on guiding output and maintaining quality and alignment—not doing the work yourself.
  6. Performance Tracking & Reporting: Define KPIs, monitor campaign performance, and provide regular strategic feedback and updates to the founder and stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years in a senior marketing role, ideally within real estate, lifestyle, or alternative community brands
  • Prior experience as a fractional or full-time CMO in a startup or early-stage venture
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing strategy, conversion funnels, and team leadership
  • Excellent communicator with an intuitive feel for branding, storytelling, and positioning
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • A personal affinity for intentional living, sovereignty, or off-mainstream lifestyle values is a plus
